Let's focus our assignment on Gorraiz neighborhood, located on the outskirts of Pamplona, about 6 km far from the city. Its population at the last census in 2009 was 3,432 inhabitants. Gorraiz is well connected, with a bus service with which you can be in the city center in just 15 minutes.
Formerly it was a village with six houses, a church, a palace anda cemetery attached to the church, it has become the most upscale neighborhood of Pamplona.In 1993 began the construction of the complex Gorraiz, with the strength to create also the exclusive golf club Gorraiz. A company acquired the palace and turned it into a restaurant which now hosts weddings and corporate parties in a unique setting in Navarra.Just then it started to popularize the fact ofbuy land in Gorraiz and build your home as you want, so we can find some real mansions there. Only people with lots of money could purchase these reserved lands so the rest of the houses of Gorraiz began to be built more homogeneous.That is why we can see different houses there but the most seen are the family houses. However, there are also cases of flats that share garden but they never exceedthree storeys high.
Most of the houses are occupied by families. Gorraiz is a residential neighborhood where they try to find calm and quiet that are not in the busy Pamplona. There are also buildings that are owned by the companies, and are used to accommodate workers coming from other communities. Gorraiz is also known as the neighborhood of celebrities, because almost all players of the mostfamous teams in Pamplona, as Osasuna, live in Gorraiz. It is a perfect location for them because their training camp is situated on the same road which leads to Pamplona, just before entering the city, so they do not have any problem at the time of going to their trainings.

As we were saying, Gorraiz is a residential neighborhood. When they said they were going to built it the “boom” was reallyhuge and many people wanted to change their home in Pamplona for a new and divine one in Gorraiz, to live with the coolest people. Living in Gorraiz was seen as a rise in the social scale. The economic crisis ended with this growth, we will talk about it later.

Gorraiz is only composed of the buildings that are in the center of the image, at the rightside of the road. We can also see the golf club and the palace, which is the biggest building.

At first, the physical one. Pamplona has expanded its periphery with several neighborhoods on the outskirtsbut no one can compete with Gorraiz.
The road that connects it to the city center is a highway that only goes to other village, so it is not as busy as those who go to other districts and also lead to France or cities like San Sebastian and Bilbao.
Gorraiz is also known as one of the green zones of Pamplona, because it is situated on a small hill and the constructors greatly respected the greenzones. Moreover, Gorraiz also leads the classification of renewable energy so it is a neighborhood environment-conscious, where you can find a lot of solar panels on its houses.
Another good thing of Gorraiz is that they are really close to Itaroa, one of the two large shopping centers of the city and its surroundings. In fact, this shopping center is nearer from Gorraiz than from Pamplona.If we think on the economic force, we will see that Gorraiz is an expensive neighborhood. You can find chalets for more than 2 million €, but this are the mansions we were talking about before. The average price of a common single family house in Gorraiz is about 570.000 €.
