REPORT
ANDY WARHOL
INTRODUCTION
In this report we are going to talk about Andy Warhol, a recognized pop art artist who did many representations of many brands, celebrities, cartoons, etc.and we are going to focus the work in the techniques that Warhola did.
BODY (DATA)
Andrew Warhola, an important and recognized painter was born in Pennsylvania in August 6, 1928 and died in New Yorkin 1987; his artistic name was Andy Warhol, name which he has always been recognized, but also he is known as Mr. America.
Warhol was one of the most important representative persons in the pop artpainting. He made famous with his technique skillscreen painting that was a printing technique where you play images in different materials with a help of a mesh for the ink. With this screen paintingmethod Andy Warhol did a lot of paintings like the banana and the Campbell’s soup; also with it he did the celebrity pictures of Michael Jackson, Marilyn Monroe and other celebrities.
Other thingthat we can highlight is the colors that he used to use, that colors were strong and with neon tone. We can see it in his painting of a cow where he used different colors to represent it, in the JackieKennedy draw and in the Elizabeth Taylor representation.
The repetition of one object was another characteristic in his painting. In the draw he used to put the objects like in series, some withdifferent size or different colors. These repeat images could be seen in some Campbell’s and Coca-Cola’s representations.
To finish we are going to talk about other things that Andy Warhol did that werenot directly related to painting. It was the photography, another passion of him but the thing that caught more our attention was the photos that he made of him simulating a women. We supposed that hedid it because he was homosexual, and maybe he had a tendency to be the ``women`` in the gays.
