The Volcano Eruption in Pompeii was an unexpected natural disaster, there were no alarms or heads up for the people ofPompeii. So the question is , What were the people of Pompeii doing when the eruption happened?
Some archaeologists have discovered fromthe archaeological remains that the people who remained in the city were doing their daily lives activities.
The Eruption of Pompeiikilled almost 2,000 people, this is the most destructive volcanic eruption ever to be recorded. The eruption took place on the 24th of August.There was a young boy who wrote a letter the day before and after the disaster. The boy’s name was Pliny. He was at the house of his unclewhen he saw with his mom a strange shape of gas. He heard the screaming of children, and men looking their wife’s and kids. There were almostno survivors and the city got completely but completely covered with rock. Some were killed because of the lava, others got hit with therocks and other couldn’t breath because of the ash that covered the whole city. Then the lava came and buried the whole city under rock.
Thisis just a segment about the whole letter that Pliny wrote:
“I could boast that not a groan or cry of fear escaped me in these perils,but I admit that I derived some poor consolation in my mortal lot from the belief that the whole world was dying with me and I with it."
