Dalton, Dennis. Mahatma Gandhi: Nonviolent power in action. Columbia University Press, 1993.
This book presents the ideas of freedom and how the power of Gandhi affects, ina positive way, the destiny of India. Dennis an extensive definition of the practice of non-violence, and explains how it has a huge impact in India. Also Dennis affirms that Gandhi and theIndependence of India depends on each other. Because without Gandhi India would never be able to reach their Independence, and without the Independence Gandhi would have remained unknown. My paper will onlyfocus on the first and second chapter of this book, which the first talks about the ideas of Gandhi and the second of the practice and power of non-violence resistance.
Green, Martin. The origins ofnonviolence. The Pennsylvania State University, 1986.
This book tells how the modern vision of the nonviolence was in affect invented by Tolstoy and Gandhi. Green offers a extensive overview of hownonviolence was invented by Gandhi and how the nonviolence will change the life of him. Green also give a complete definition of nonviolence and how it works. In my paper I’ll focus only on the sectionthat talks about Gandhi.

This book presents the ideas of Gandhi, focusing more on how Gandhi seeksa peaceful world, a stable society, and a coherent, spiritual life. J. Terchek introduces a Gandhi that sees these goals as a desirable but elusive in the modern world, a Gandhi who argues thatstruggle and resistance are the requirements for a self-governing life. In my paper I’ll focus on how J. Terchek presents the ideas of Gandhi. What were his desires and goals?
