This theory is very important in teaching because, it provides to the learner a retention of information, to acquire knowledge related to the last knowledge in a meaningful way and as the newinformation is related with the last one it is saved in long-term. This term create conscience in teachers because educate is not only bring a lot of material to the classroom and repeat it but is a processthat has certain stages where the teacher will have to guide and assist the students in the cognitive process.
Teachers must present a well-organized material for students to build their knowledge,then the student connects the new knowledge with the previous one to understand them, they also must know the previous knowledge of the student because this can help them to know what to do before theclass. Tres jóvenes: Juan (Brandon López), Sara (Karen Martínez) y Samuel (Carlos Chajón) deciden abandonar su vida en Guatemala para emprender un viaje hacia los Estados Unidosbajo la ilusión de un futuro digno. Chauk, un joven indígena tzotzil, se les une muy al inicio; sin siquiera hablar español se genera una rivalidad entre él y Juan, cargada de hostilidad que giraalrededor del gusto por Sara. Un primer intento fallido hace que Samuel abandone la empresa, acción trágica e imprudente que luego Chauk atenderá tomando el puesto.
En ese punto la película toma su rumbo y,la historia, análoga al ritmo del montaje, toma una cadencia narrativa de gran manufactura. La relación entre Juan y Chauk subyace como una especie de subtrama que se torna en infortunio. Elcontraste entre las lenguas de los personajes logra formar lazos de correspondencia fraternal; en una escena enternecedora, Sara le muestra al joven tzotzil algunas palabras en español para designar cosasque él ya conoce, mientras que más adelante, la primera expresión espontanea de Chauk en su nuevo actuar lingüístico es la articulación del término “hermano”.
