Calentamiento global english
Greenhouse gases are gases in an atmosphere that absorb and emit radiation within the thermal infrared range.Although greenhouse gases make up only about 1 percent of the Earth’s atmosphere, they regulate our climate by trapping heat and holding it in a kind of warm-air blanket that surroundsthe planet and keep it about 33oC degree warmer than it would be without these gases in the atmosphere. The Greenhouse Effect is is the heating of the Earth due to the presence ofthese greenhouse gases. It is named this way because of a similar effect produced by the glass panes of a greenhouse.
In the Earth there are several main greenhouse gases responsiblefor warming and humans emit them in a variety of ways, which are Water Vapor, Carbon Dioxide(CO2) from the combustion of fossil fuels in cars, factories and electricity production,Methane(CH4) released from landfills and agriculture, Nitrous Oxide(N2O) produced by the fertilizers, gases used for refrigeration and industrial processes, and Ozon(O3). Over the pastcentury, human activities since the start of the industrial era around 1750 have increased the levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. The Earth has increased in temperature by about.5oC degrees and many scientists believe this is because of an increase in concentration of these greenhouse gases. People call this climate change over the past century the beginningof Global Warming. The Fears are that if people keep producing such gases at increasing rates, the results will be negative in nature, such as more severe floods and droughts, increasingprevalence of insects, sea levels rising, and Earth's precipitation may be redistributed. These changes to the environment will most likely cause negative effects on Earth.
