Casey Anthony Case

There have been many controversial trials throughout America’s history that has marked Americans, not only because of the atrocities committed to the victims but moreimportantly because of the so unexpected verdict. The Casey Anthony case was and still is a controversial case that has marked America’s history. A 22 year old mom (at the time) accused of killing her 2 yearold daughter Caylee. After finding her body on December 11, 2008 near some wooden place close to their house, the investigations started. The trial went from May to July 2011. Everyone thought she wasgoing to get convicted but the verdict stated that Casey was found not guilty of first degree murder, aggravated child abuse, and aggravated manslaughter of a child, but guilty of four misdemeanorcounts of providing false information to a law enforcement officer. In my opinion, the evidence presented by the prosecutors was enough to convict Casey and the jury made a mistake in letting her go.
Thefacts start with Casey not reporting that Caylee was missing until 31 days passed. Caylee was last seen June 16, 2008 when Casey left the house with her. Her grandmother Cindy reported Caylee missingon July 15 after she and her husband George Anthony received a letter that stated that Caylees car was towed. When George went to pick up the car he and the tow yard attendant noted a strong odorcoming from Caylee’s trunk. They described the smell as dead body, or decomposing body. During those 31 days, Casey was out partying with her friends, staying at her boyfriend’s house, she even got atattoo that read “Bella Vita” which is beautiful life in Italian. Pictures and testimonies where shown to prove that while Caylee was missing, her mother Casey was not grieving or searching for her. Shewas happy, partying and enjoying her life.
