Secondly, another change made was that the screenwriters gave some of the minor characters such as one of the gosling personality and dialogue. Whenone of the goslings is born he talks to Wilbur and befriends him, but in the novel the goslings never talk to Wilbur. I think the change was to compensate for the sake of the movie’s time length theycould not make the story long. Therefore, they made a short time for Wilbur and the gosling to have fun. I think it does not improve the story because Wilbur becomes like a mother to the gosling, whenin the novel Wilbur was always like a child and charlotte was like the mother. Towards the end we see how much he has grown but with this new character, but with the new character we do not see theprocess of Wilbur’s growth.
Thirdly, Fern cares more about Wilbur in the film, she decides to stay with Wilbur than go play in the fare. It is henry that looks for Fern and Wilbur startsquestioning Ferns love for him. Also, Fern does not leave Wilbur alone she is with him till the end, for example, when they call Wilbur to give him a prize she was there with him and Henry and she is notembarrassed to show she loved Wilbur like in the novel. Even Henry Fussy meets Wilbur quite soon. I think it works well because it does not make the audience question why Fern leaves Wilbur and it also...
