Author’s Notes
Choosing a topic for this essay was hard it had to be something important for me that had happened. For this essay I had many options for the topics since the past years I have had several events that have been very meaningful for me. After brainstorming about them, I decided to write a paper about a fearthat I had some months ago that became something good. This is about living with someone else. Before coming to Texas for school I was horrified about sharing my room and some of my things with somebody else. This was because I had never shared my room before and was not expecting to do that until I got married. I tried to explain in the body of the essay the process that we went through and how wegot to form a relationship. I explain him good and the bad experiences we went through. The paper details explain the way in which we changed from being strangers from different cultures and we became good friends. I got along pretty well with my roommate and sharing a room has been an amazing experience for me.
I liked the essay because it shows a process of evolution in our friendship and itdevelops to something good. It worries me that there is not much detail on thing that has happened between us. I really need extended and put more details on it so the reader can have a better idea of our relationship and how it was formed.
The arrangement of the paragraphs was changed so that the story could have a catching start. This way the reader will be hooked from the beginning. The movement ofthe first paragraph to the Third one makes a regression that resulted very well.

Sharing a Bedroom with a Stranger
I was taking a nap at three o’clock in the afternoon when he entered my room, I mean our room. “What’s up man? I am Matt” he said with a nervous voice. Matt Tappe from Whitefish, Montana, had become my roommate. My first impression of him was not very good; I thought we were notgoing to get along very well. Soon, I would get to know that I was totally mistaken. As the days passed and we got to know each other, the relationship between us grew stronger. I liked him a lot, and I think he thought the same way about me. Plus, we had many things in common; we had pretty much the same schedule, we were both late night guys, and we watched the same TV programs. Even though wewere born in very different countries, it seemed that the culture barrier and the language were not affecting us at all. I was very interested in getting to know his lifestyle, and Matt didn’t stop asking about Costa Rica. I knew at that time that it was a start to a good friendship, with a lot of good things to come.
When you first meet Matt, several things come to mind. His tall lean physiquereminds me of an athlete; his shaggy curly hair paints an image of a messy person, and an odd hat which I came to learn, never came off his head. After getting to know him better I have realized he is less strange than what you think when you see him for the first time. This made me realize that most of the times we humans judge a person by looks, instead of looking at what really matters theinside. Like the old saying says, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” Matt is a very nice guy who plays fewer sports than Stephen Hawking. He is actually a “gamer” that loves his Play Station 3 more than his Lynda, his nice girlfriend from Kansas. Despite his disheveled appearance, it was a surprise to know that he keeps his side of the room tidy.
Less than a year ago, I moved to Fort Worth to go tocollege. I had lived in Costa Rica my whole life, and I was totally used to my lifestyle there. Even though I came to the United States at least five times a year since I was seven, it was very different to visit than to live here more than nine months a year. This was a big change in all kinds of ways, but one of the biggest was to share my bedroom. I could not think of anything other than that....
