PARA PENSAR LA DESAFILIACIÓN ESTUDIANTIL DURANTE EL AÑO DE
INGRESO A LA UNIVERSIDAD DE LA REPÚBLICA.
Un aporte desde la Psicología.

RESUMEN.El trabajo que se presenta se basa en la Investigación “La responsabilidad institucional
en la permanencia del estudiante en la Universidad de la República”, tesis de maestría
en Psicología y Educación. Ésta se realizó en la Facultad de Psicología, trabajándose
desde una metodología cualitativa.
Sin desconocer la multiplicidad de factores que dan como resultado el alejamiento del
joven delcentro educativo, el estudio hace foco en aquellos relacionados con la
institución universitaria que los recibe.
Partiendo de la pregunta: ¿qué responsabilidad tiene la Universidad respecto del
alejamiento del estudiante que ingresa? los objetivos se centraron en conocer aquellos
factores, circunstancias y propuestas institucionales que favorecen u obstaculizan la
permanencia del estudianteen su primer año en la institución universitaria.
Para esto se realizaron entrevistas individuales a docentes y decano como también
entrevistas a rector y prorector de enseñanza que permitieran conocer y contrastar
puntos de vista. Para analizar el punto de vista de los estudiantes, se realizó un grupo

focal con jóvenes que ingresaron en el año 2009, a cinco meses de su ingreso a laFacultad.
En esta comunicación se analiza la perspectiva estudiantil, desde la sistematización del
grupo focal, que da elementos para entender cómo reciben e interpretan los estudiantes
las propuestas y estrategias docentes. Las conclusiones, parciales, toman solamente las
que se agrupan considerando esta perspectiva.
Este trabajo tiene la pretensión de abrir y mantener la discusión para seguirpensando y
cuestionando la tarea.

ABSTRACT.
This document is based on the research “the institucional responsability in the
permanency of the students in the Universidad de la República ”, thesis of mastery in
Psychology and education. This investigation was made in the Faculty of Psychology,
with aqualitative methodology. Without not knowing the multiplicity of factors which
produce the abandon of young people from the educative center, this study emphatizes
the factors that are related with the institution that receives them.
Starting with the question: what responsibility has the university about the abandon of
students who enters? The aims are centred in knowing the institutionalfactors,
circumstances and offers that favor or prevent the permanency of the student in his first
year in the university institution . For this, individual interviews were realized to
teachers and dean, rector and prorector of education that allow to know and to confirm
points of view. To analyze the point of view of the students a focal group was realized
with young people who entered the year2009, to five months of his revenue to faculty.

In this communication the student perspective is analyzed, from the systematizing of the
focal group , that gives elements to understand how the students receive and interpret
the offers and educational strategies.
The partial conclusions take only those who are grouped considering this perspective .
This work has the pretension to open andsupport the discussion to continue thinking
and questioning the task.
