Divided we fail: Improving completion and closing racial gaps in California’s Community colleges

This is talking about racial gaps in communitycollege completion rates between Latino, black, Asian Pacific Islander and White students. This gap is extensively seen as a major American social problem given the well-documented community and personalbenefits of a baccalaureate degree, and the growing share of society that is Latino in background.

I believe that the authors name the paper “Divided we fail” because we have to try the best of ustogether the teachers and students, for example; am a student and I have to try to do the best of me putting all my effort in everything I do, but if am divided (that means I rarely talk to the teacheror other students), doing everything by my self without the help specially for the teacher am going to fail in my goals, I need to be focus and its better with the help of the teachers, we have to bea group: the teacher and the students, and both do the best of us, they for teach and me (student) for learn.

Too many student doesn’t complete the college for example: Latinos and black most haddropped out the black are about 75% and the Latinos are the 80% and only 15% of the none completer are still enrolled and critical milestone is missed, only the 40% of degree seeking students hadearned at least 30 college-level credits at the CCC and again the lower is the Latino 35% and black 28% the Latinos face more bumps at the end of the road that means the Latinos who reach the 30 credit...
