Its not a complicated to be interested in your kids education, I believe every parent in America wants to know that their kids are learning the proper basics. Their whole future depends on their education and the things they know. There are two types of smart book smart and street smart both are important but to succeed in the business world book smart takes a big roll. That’s why this wholesemester I have been researching what goes on in the classroom because that’s when most of the kids learn how to be “book smart”. In my extensive research I have found that there has been one mayor issue going around government schools. Which is standardize testing. This test has brought down class productivity, and stopped personal and intellectual growth of some students for physiological reasons Iwill explain further on.
I know this subject will attract the public eye, I with more confidence know this will attract the attention of parents who have kids in government schools, teachers, principals, school board members and anyone who is being affected by this test; It will also attract people that can change or modify this system.
The classroom it self is already making controversy,because American grades have been declining for a while now in international test. According to Marian Widle and her article in greatschools.org she puts facts about how we are just below average when American students compete against other countries. We are average. It wasn’t always like this studies show ever since 2003 students have been nulling their “book smart” growth. We can go back and blamethe Bush administration because in 2002 he comes up with the great idea o passing an act named NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND” now what type of bull shit is this! I’m no grown up and I just started college but older people will tell you if you don’t try you wont succeed; Because they have seen their friends not give a FLYING FLY and their whole live has been mediocre thanks to their not giving a Flying Flyattitude.
This is where the true problem begins for your kid in the class room next time you ask your self why your kid can’t read or write critically or analytically remember this essay. The NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND ACT should be expunge, thanks to this we have children (Jr. bums) who don’t want to go to school at all, destroying the class environment with their dumb and rude actions. Jr. bums arewho usually skip class and get very bad grades, now you combine these kids with the general population (those who aren’t very bright but are willing to learn) then combine these kids with the prodigies ( those who go to class to get perfect attendance if they didn’t go to class they would still get A’s). So now in class you pretty much have a circus, thank god in some schools you get to move thebright kids up to AP classes but even then its not that much of an improvement.
You are probably thinking why did I mention and stereotyped people in a very uncivil and unmannerly way. But the truth is if you where in a public school my description would be a euphemism. Going back to standardize testing, this test is the school most important event of the whole year this is what they work for sohard. You are probably thinking wow it must be a really hard test but the truth is its not, if you don’t pass this you are level by the state as being below the minimal knowledge required to be in that grade. In less fancy words this just means you where suppose repeating the year before and our teachers did a huge mistake in passing you. Oh but I forgot to mention, in this Act schools get extrafunding for the percent of passing students. That’s why principals in schools encourage teachers to pass these kids that don’t really know their basics. In my high school I heard of a case that a principal chastised a teacher for not passing enough kids this class was physics, and I’m sure it wasn’t the teachers fault so many kids where failing, it truly is a hard class.
