Life As We See It
As a student of sociology I’ve discovered that there are over 6 billion people in this world and each person has a diverse way to look at life as well as live it. There are manydifferent factors which structure a person’s life. For example, the country you reside in can severely impact the way you are raised, the religion you practice, or in my opinion even your level ofconfidence. Learning the way people live day to day in your surrounding area or even on the other side of the earth will help you gain a better aspect of life.
The United States of America isconsidered the greatest country in the world and a land of opportunities, which I would definitely agree to. I find it very interesting how our country has developed into a very technological based region ashas most of the world. Decades ago in 1965 a group called “ The Gallup Organization” asked young people if they read the newspaper on a daily basis and 67% confirmed yes but in a recent survey in2006 the percentage has dropped to a mere 11%. It is not that our new generation has drifted away from reading the newspaper but the convenience factor of picking up a newspaper definitely has, we nolonger feel the need to pick up a newspaper when everything is a click on the screen away on our “smartphones, tablets and laptops”. This revolution has brought a whole new perspective to our lives andhas created an innovative way for us to access information. Experiencing this in my lifetime only makes me contemplate what knowledge we will have in the future and how it will affect our society.The way our living experience as human beings has progressed over time is very helpful if you consider all the privileges we are fortunate to have. The way we live now has been molded into a newstructure of life. If this new way of living were somehow to be torn apart from our society the outcome would be complete devastation.
