INTRODUCCION.
La esquizofrenia es un trastorno fundamental de la personalidad, donde existe una alteración del individuo para reflejar exactamente el mundo que le rodea e influir sobreél con un fin determinado. Poseen ideas delirantes que pueden ser extravagantes, con alteración de la percepción, afecto anormal y aislamiento.
El deterioro de la función mental en estos enfermos ha alcanzado un grado tal que interfiere marcadamente con su capacidad para afrontar algunas de las demandas ordinarias de la vida o mantener un adecuado contacto con la realidad. El esquizofrénicono vive en este mundo (disociación entre la realidad y su mundo), ya que existe una negación de la realidad de forma inconsciente. No es consciente de su enfermedad. Su principal mecanismo de defensa es la escisión, solo ver objetos parciales, no puede integrar las cualidades tanto buenas como malas en una misma persona.
