Wind energy is the energy from wind, ie, the kinetic energy generated by the effect of air currents, and is transmuted into other useful forms for human activities.
Today, wind energy is mainly usedto produce electricity through wind turbines. At the end of 2011, worldwide capacity of wind-powered generators was 238 gigavatios.1 In 2011 the wind generated about 3% of electricity consumption inSpain mundial.2 wind energy produced 16% of electricity consumption in 2011.3
Wind energy is an abundant, renewable, clean and helps reduce emissions of greenhouse gases to replace power plants basedon fossil fuels, which makes it a kind of green energy. Its main drawback is the intermittency of wind.

History
Wind energy is not new, is one of the oldest energy with thermal energy. The windas a driving force there since ancient times and in all times has been used as such, as we can see. It originates from the sun. So has moved boats powered candles or you operated the mill machinerymoving blades. But it was not until the eighties of the last century, when this type of clean energy suffered a real boost. Wind energy grows unstoppable from XXI century, in some countries more thanothers, but certainly in Spain there is a great growth, one of the first countries behind Germany in Europe or the United States to worldwide. Its boom in wind farms is due to the favorable conditions ofwind there, especially in Andalusia occupies a leading position among which we can highlight the Gulf of Cadiz, as the wind resource is exceptional.

I personally think that
Wind energy producesthe wind, are usually used wind turbines and is a renewable energy
Wind energy is one of the renewable energy sources with the greatest development potential, both for its advanced technology and itseconomic viability. It is also one of the most interesting energy sources to reduce CO2 emissions. Currently you can find on the market wind machines in a wide range of capacities, from hundreds of...
