198 countries, one world, one final aim.


United Nations is an international organization whose mainobjective is to prevent wars between countries and provide the opportunity to dialogue for avoiding conflicts. Was founded in 1945 as a result of the World War II. Is formed by different organizations,each one of them carries a different function as: international security, social progress, international law, economic development and human rights, but their final achievement is to obtain worldpeace.

Each year many schools in Colombia celebrate the United Nations Model in which students from different schools participate. The Model counts with each of the organizations the United Nationshas: international court of justice, PNUMA, DISEC, World bank, etc. Each commission is conformed by a president or presidents and delegates from different countries which are performed by the students.Each commission is given a topic to discuss and argue about which possible solutions can be executed in order to solve the problem.

The U.N.M at Gimnasio Los Caobos is an obligatory activity inninth grade, because many students think is a boring exercise in which are discussed many problems and most of them doesn't care. Otherwise, they end enjoying it, because they notice that thoseproblems discussed in a room are not problems that just involve some people, but all, and are not problems of just a country, but all. And at the end they conclude that although they cannot do much at thisage, they are showing the world that there's another way to solve problems, and if each one of us cooperate we will be able to achieve the aim everybody is involve in, world peace.

For beingprepared to the Model they must assume the position of a delegate from a country, research about the position of the country in the conflict, and have clear some aspects as: why did the conflict began? Who...
