1. The Unconscious: the storehouse of those painful experiences and emotions, those wounds, fears, guilty desires, and unresolved conflicts we do not want to know about because we feel will be overwhelmed by them.
2. Repression: the expunging from consciousness, of these unhappy psychological events.
3. The oedipal conflict: competition with the parents of the same gender for theattention and affection of the parent of the opposite gender. And all the commonplace ideas of old-style Freudian theory.
4. Defenses: The processes by which the contents of our unconscious are kept in the unconscious.
5. Selective perception: hearing and seeing only what we feel we can handle
6. Selective memory: Modifying our memories so that we don’t feel overwhelmed by them or forgettingpainful events entirely.
7. Denial: Believing that the problem doesn’t exist or the unpleasant incident never happened.
8. Avoidances: Staying away from people or situations that are liable to make us anxious by stirring up some unconscious
9. Displacement: taking it out on someone or something less threatening than the person who caused our fear, hurt, frustration or anger.
10.Projection: Ascribing our fear, problem or guilty desire to someone else and then condemning him or her for it, in order to deny that we have it ourselves.
11. Regression: The temporary return to a former psychological state, which is not just imagined but relieved.
12. Active reversal: the acknowledgement and working through of repressed experiences and emotions, because we can alter theeffects of a wound only when we relieve the wounding experience.
13. Fear of intimacy: Fear of emotional involvements with another human being.
14. Fear of abandonment: the unshakable belief that our friends and loved ones are going to desert us (physical abandonment) or don’t really care about us
15. Fear of betrayal: the nagging feeling that our friends and loved ones cant betrusted.
16. Low self-esteem: the belief that we are less worthy than other people and therefore, font deserve attention, love, or any other of life’s rewards.
17. Insecure or unstable sense of self: The inability to sustain a feeling of personal identity, to sustain a sense of knowing ourselves. This core issue makes us very vulnerable to the influence of other people, and we may findourselves continually changing the way we look or behave as we become involved with different individuals or groups.
18. Oedipal fixation: a dysfunctional bond with a parent of the opposite sex that we don’t outgrow in adulthood and that doesn’t allow us to develop mature relationships with out peers.
19. Latent content: unconscious expresses in our dreams which is the dreams underlying meaning.Altered so that we don’t readily recognize it through processes called displacement and condensation.
20. Dream displacement: occurs whenever we use a safe person, event or object as a standing to represent a more threatening person, event, or object.
21. Condensation: Occurs during a dream whenever we use a single dream image or event to represent more than one unconscious wound orconflict.
22. Primary revision: the process of displacement and condensation while dreaming, is what we actually dream and distinguishes the unconscious message.
23. Manifest content: dreams latent content, images that mean a matter of interpretation of a situation that represent psychological conflict.

24. Secondary revision: process occurs while still awake, the unconscious changeof a dream by our manipulation in order to protect ourselves from anything painful to know.
25. Phallic symbols: male imagery symbols that represent the males genitalia, like towers, rockets, guns, arrows, swords etc.

26. Female imagery: includes anything representing the female genitalia like caves, rooms, walled in gardens, cups, anything that can be in similarity with the womb....
