The defined area for the study was the department of President Hayes, in Western Region of the Chaco. The aim was to study the variability and genetic diversity of goats breeded in the department of President Hayes and identify the different genotypes of goat populations in traditional farms. Subject of the study were 150 goats. 28 microsatellite markers were used in the procedure, DNA wasextracted from the roots of the hair and PCR process applied over it; to get alleles and studied DNA functions, GENESCAN software was developed. Typing and characterization of the alleles were obtained by using GENOTYPER program. Basic statistical measures such as: number of alleles, heterozygosis and PIC were determined by using the statistical program GENETIX. AFC was performed to determine geneticdifferentiation among individuals and populations. Genetic distances were estimated between goat populations by the Nei and Reynolds method, by using the program POPULATIONS. We have analyzed the genetic structure of individuals and populations by using the program STRUCTURE. Obtained results from the assignment of individuals test were plotted with complement DISTRUC. By analyzing the valuesobtained by the Nei method, we found the bigger genetic distance between Boer crossbred and Anglo Nubian, and the shortest distance was found among crossbred populations and Anglo Nubian. According to the assignment of each individual to the different clusters, we found that the group of Anglo Nubian had a good uniformity in their genetic structure. However, it is appreciated an interesting goatgenetic material in terms of variability and genetic diversity, located in the southern Chaco, which should motivate us for further studies with molecular markers. It is possible that this is a local zoo genetic resource or native from the region where the study was held, which would indicate the possibility that genetics is adequate to produce in the area.
