1. Equality, justice, and a respect for rights are characteristics of the U.S economic system. "Would you agree or disagreewith this statement? Why?
I agree with this statement, since these three elements are the pillars of the Constitution of our country, but the mistaken view, on the part of businessmen, of thepursuit of profit at any cost and use up the depletion of natural, human, and financial resources, have led to the violation of these principles. This economic and business vision has no place in the worldeconomic world. Today we must think beyond the “free trade” and focus on “fair trade”, working directly to consumer rights, such as the right not to be discriminated arbitrarily by suppliers of goodsand services; the right to competition, trying to eliminate the different mechanisms to monopolize the market, dumping, bid rigging, etc.; promulgate respect for the principle of equality, usingpersonnel management techniques that result in the improvement of corporate strength and quality of life in the companies; etc. We must eliminate that wrong perspective that leads man to be at the serviceof capital.
2. "From an ethical point of view, big business is always bad business." Discuss the pros and cons of this statement.
I not agree with this. We cannot generalize this statement.There are many companies that are not only in search of profitability; these companies are made for responsible purposes aimed at the attainment of ethical values to the community and employees. Manygroups or Stakeholders are affected by the business of an organization (suppliers, shareholders, customers, consumers, competition, general community, etc.). The pursuit of profit is not to oppose theethics
