Filippo Lippi
Fra´Filippo Lippi (1406 – 1469), he was also called Lippo Lippi, and was an Italian painter of the Quattrocento style that was in the fifteenth century.
Filippo did portraits ofdifferent people in frescos or paintings, in this image it has at the back a shell that represents the baptism maybe of the baby that Madonna is holding in her hands, she is completely dressed and thebaby only has the low part of his clothes. I think that Filippo had the ability for painting faces, because he painted really well, the eyes, nose, mouth, hair, he was like very careful detailing hispaintings so these incredible paintings look as if they were real. This painting is located at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.

This is an auto painting of Filippo Lippi, he paintedhimself with like acrylics, I think he painted himself as if he was angry or thinking in something. In this image I can see how he felt and was him, because he painted his face like if he was a fat manand also a very serious person. The painting for me, I think is dark, and sometimes dark colors in my opinion are for sadness, or angriness or bad things, so I suppose something wrong was in the momenthe painted that he had a bad day.

Well in general I think that Lippo Lippi was a very good painter because all of his paintings were done really carefully and detailed in so many parts, like theparts of the face, mainly he painted portraits of different people. And although I don’t know how to paint a face, I love the master pieces that can lots of people can do by having this ability ofpainting very detailed portraits as Lippo does. Taking a look on Lippo´s paintings I saw that he always uses like brownish and dark colors for most of his paintings and also most of his paintings are madeof portraits or lots of persons, that have very wonderful clothes, also as faces really detailed. I really loved Lippo´s art.
