From shakespeare to garcia lorca

Theater has been with us since the Greeks but his evolution is amazing, also the way to write or how the actors perform…
Romeo and Juliet is one of the most famous if not the most famous play ofWilliam Shakespeare. It doesn’t matter how long ago he write it… the story is still important to our days and sometimes we even feel identify with the characters. From my point of view this story of twoyoung lovers that lose their life because a mistake of lack of communication is exactly what happens every day, we don’t exactly lose our lives but with the misunderstandings of everyday we could killour relationship, and at the end when we don’t have the one we love we feel almost as if were dead.
Shakespeare present to us this story in a very old kind of theater with rimes; I think a poemcould be extremely romantic but in a play sometimes is very difficult to understand what he is trying to tell us, I really prefer something that doesn’t rimes but is pretty explicit about what acharacter feels or want to say, like that the theater became more enjoyable.
The two movies I watch for my class are very good each on their own way but also incomplete. The older one is actually trying tomake real the vision Shakespeare had about the time and place I love the fact that they use the estrange clothes, the houses that actually look like castles, the thing there is that they delete a lotof the dialogue. In the new one they try to do something innovating, the use the exactly same dialogues William wrote but the place are time are adaptive for our time and place so the audio and theperforming are like 2 different things. If their intention was to make the public feel more identify with the character, then why they didn’t adapted all of the piece including the dialogue. And in theold one if the intention was to preserve the idea of Shakespeare why they didn’t put the entire dialogue? The end is one of the tragedies that could never be forgotten Juliet pretends to be dead,...
