Does water energy?
Water, like many substances, contains two kinds of energy. The first kind of energy is called kinetic energy. This is the energy that is used during the execution of processes, such as movement. Because the kinetic energy and water may flow can consist waves.
But water can also contain potential energy. This is the energy that is stored in the water. Stored but not used. Thisenergy can be used when the water starts flowing. Is transferred to kinetic energy and this will cause movement.
Can generate energy through water?
When water flows or falls, energy can begenerated. Power generation through water is usually held in large hydroelectric plants, with a number of steps and the use of various devices, such as turbines and generators. The energy of the water can beused to produce electricity.
What is hydropower?
Hydropower is the energy that is supplied by the power generation falls (falls) or flowing water. Hydropower is also called a renewable energysource. This means that the source of which comes from energy, can be renewed. This is caused, unlike the non-renewable energy sources such as oil, we will not stay completely dry. Can be renewed after thatwe used for power generation.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of hydropower?
There are several benefits in using water power. Hydropower has a moderate to high amount of useful energy andlow operating and maintenance costs. Hydroelectric power plants emit very little carbon dioxide has an effect on global warming and other water pollutants during operation. They have a lifespan oftwo to ten times the coal and nuclear plants.
Dams that are used in power plants help prevent floods and provide a flow regulation for irrigation water in the areas below it.
However, there are somedisadvantages in the use of hydropower. Hydropower plants require much space and this causes the disappearance of habitat for animals. Large scale projects can threaten and disrupt recreational river...
