It's called climate change climate modification regarding climate history to a global or regional scale. Such changes occur at very different time scales and on all meteorological parameters: temperature, air pressure, precipitation, cloudiness, etc.. In theory, both are due to natural causes (Crowley and North, 1988) and anthropogenic (Oreskes, 2004).
The term is often used inappropriately so,to refer only to the climate changes that happen in the present, using it as a synonym for global warming. The Convention of the United Nations Framework on Climate Change uses the term "climate change" only to refer to the human-caused change:
"Climate change" means a change of climate which is attributed directly or indirectly to human activity that alters the composition of the globalatmosphere and which is in addition to natural climate variability observed over comparable time periods.
Article 1, paragraph 2
Called "natural climate variability", as constantly occurs from natural causes. In some cases, to refer to the human-induced change is also used the term "anthropogenic climate change."
Besides global warming, climate change involves changes in other variables such asrainfall and patterns, cloud cover and all other elements of the atmospheric system. The complexity of the problem and its multiple interactions cause the only way to assess these changes is by using computer models that simulate the physics of the atmosphere and oceans. The chaotic nature of these models makes itself have a high proportion of uncertainty (Stainforth et al., 2005) (Roe and Baker, 2007),but that does not mean that they are able to anticipate future significant changes (Schnellhuber, 2008 ) (Knutti and Hegerl, 2008) that have economic consequences (Stern, 2008) as the observable and biological level (Walther et al., 2002) (Hughes, 2001).
Causes of climate change
Climate is an average, a given time scale, the weather. The different types of climate and its location on the Earth'ssurface are due to certain factors, the main geographical latitude, altitude, distance from sea, land relief orientation with respect to insolation (sunshine and shade sheds) and the direction of the wind (windward and leeward slopes) and finally, the ocean currents. These factors and their variations over time changes in key climate constituents are also five: air temperature, air pressure, wind, humidity and rainfall.
But there are significant fluctuations in these elements over time, the greater the greater the period of time considered. These fluctuations occur in both time and space. The fluctuations in time are easy to check: there may be a year with a summer cold (eg the tourism sector grew to heavy losses in recent years due to Spanish beaches the low temperatures and theconsequent drop in number of visitors, and the winter of 2009 to 2010 was much colder than usual, not only in Spain but throughout Europe). Spatial fluctuations are also more frequent and verifiable: the effects of heavy rainfalls in the Southern Hemisphere tropics in America (floods in Peru and southern Brazil) is presented in parallel with very little rain in the area North intertropical South America(especially Venezuela and other neighboring areas).
A change in the emission of solar radiation, on the composition of the atmosphere, in the arrangement of the continents, ocean currents or in Earth orbit can change the distribution of power and thermal equilibrium, profoundly altering the climate when it comes to long-term processes.
These influences can be divided into external and internalto the Earth. The also external forcings are called as systematically normally act on climate, although there are also random as in the case of meteorite impacts (astroblemas). Human influence on climate in many cases external forcing is considered as its influence is more systematic than chaotic but it is also true that Homo sapiens belongs to the terrestrial biosphere itself and can be...
