 RESUMEN
La gingivitis crónica es una de las formas más frecuentes de enfermedad periodontal. Se considera una afección inmunoinflamatoria crónica del periodonto de protección donde la microbiota del surco y la respuesta del hospedero son factores de riesgo primordiales. Se clasifica de acuerdo a las características clínicas e histopatológicas en edematosa, fibroedematosa y fibrosa. En un grupo depacientes se utilizó aceite de girasol ozonizado, Oleozón (como único medicamento), en el tratamiento de la gingivitis crónica edematosa, y se comparó con un grupo control en el que se empleó clorhexidina acuosa al 0,2%, en ambos grupos se realizaron tartrectomías semanales e indicación de la fisioterapia bucal. La muestra fue de 100 pacientes mayores de 15 años, distribuidos de forma aleatoria. Serealizaron aplicaciones semanales y tantas visitas a consulta como fuera necesario. Los pacientes se aplicaron Oleozón cada seis horas en su casa y buches de clorhexidina una vez al día, entre consultas, según el grupo. El criterio de curación tomado en cuenta fue la remisión del edema y la inflamación hasta lograr alcanzar las características normales de la encía y la desaparición de las bolsasgingivales y del sangramiento. Se alcanzó el 93 % de pacientes curados con Oleozón y el 65 % con clorhexidina, con diferencias significativas entre ambos grupos. El mayor número de pacientes necesitó de 2 a 3 visitas a consulta en el grupo de estudio, y más de 4 visitas en el grupo control. No se detectaron reacciones adversas al Oleozón.

SUMMARY
The chronic gingivitis is one in the most frequentways in periodontal illness. It is considered an affection chronic inmunoinflamatoria of the protection periodonto where the microbiota of the furrow and the answer of the hospedero are primordial factors of risk. It is classified according to the clinical characteristics and histopatológicas in edematosa, fibroedematosa and fibrous. In a group of patient oil of ozonized sunflower, Oleozón (asonly medication), was used in the treatment of the gingivitis chronic edematosa, and it was compared with a group control in which watery clorhexidina was used to 0,2%, in both groups they were carried out weekly tartrectomías and indication of the buccal physiotherapy. The sample belonged to 100 patients bigger than 15 years, distributed in an aleatory way. They were carried out applications weeklyand so many visits to consultation like outside necessary. The patients were applied Oleozón every six hours in their house and clorhexidina crops once a day, among consultations, according to the group. The cure approach taken into account was the remission of the edema and the inflammation until being able to reach the normal characteristics of the gum and the disappearance of the bagsgingivales and of the sangramiento. 93% of cured patients was reached with Oleozón and 65% with clorhexidina, with significant differences between both groups. The biggest number of patients needed from 2 to 3 visits to consultation in the study group, and more than 4 visits in the group control. Adverse reactions were not detected Oleozón.
