Archipelago is a group of islands and other land masses under and close to each
Canyon A canyon is a valley or ravine that is formed from a river. It is created through the process of erosion. It usually only occurs in areas with very low levels of rainfall!
Waterfall A waterfall is a river or other body of water's steep fall over a rocky ledge into a plunge pool below. Waterfalls are alsocalled cascades.
Hill A hill is a piece of land that rises higher than everything surrounding it. It looks like a little bump in the Earth. Since theyre higher than everything around them, hills are good places to get a nice view. Hills are easier to climb than mountains
Desert.- A desert is an area that receives precipitation of less than 250 millimetres annually, experiences very strong windsand it is also affected by both extremes of temperature. In cold deserts the temperatures are very low while in hot deserts they are very high.
Glacier.- A glacier is a huge mass of ice that moves slowly over land. The term “glacier” comes from the French word glace (glah-SAY), which means ice. Glaciers are often called “rivers of ice.”
Glaciers fall into two groups: alpine glaciers and icesheets
Gulf.- The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution was an agreement between the House of Representatives and the Senate that gave President Lyndon B. Johnson full disclosure to use military force without formally declaring war in Southeast Asia.
Island .- Any land area surrounded entirely by water is considered an island. The exception to this definition is a land area of continental size, such asAustralia, which is considered a nation-continent. But Iceland, also a nation, is much smaller and is considered an island. Islands are found in oceans, seas, lakes, and rivers.
Lake .- A lake refers to a body of relatively still fresh or salt water of considerable size, localized in a basin, which is surrounded by land apart from a river, stream or other form of moving water that serves to feed ordrain the lake. It is usually inland and not part of the ocean and therefore distinct from lagoons and is larger and deeper than ponds.
Mountain .- A mountain is a large landform that stretches above the surrounding land in a limited area, usually in the form of a peak. A mountain is generally steeper than a hill. Mountains are formed through tectonic forces or volcanism. Mountains erode slowlythrough the action of rivers, weather conditions, and glaciers. A few mountains are isolated summits, but most occur in huge mountain ranges.
Ocean .- An ocean ; the World Ocean of classical antiquity[1]) is a body of saline water that composes a large part of a planet's hydrosphere. In the context of Earth, it refers to one or all of the major divisions of the planet's World Ocean – they are, indescending order of area, the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Southern , and Arctic. Oceans. The word "sea" is often used interchangeably with "ocean" but, strictly speaking, a sea is a body of saline water partly or fully enclosed by land.
River .- A river is a flowing, moving stream of water. Usually a river feeds water into an ocean, lake, pond, or even another river. Rivers can vary in size andthere is no hard definition or rule on how big a flow of water must be to be categorized as a river. Water from a river can come from rain, melting snow, lakes, ponds, or even glaciers. Rivers flow downhill from their source. They are considered part of thefreshwater biome.
Valley .- is a depression with predominant extent in one direction. A very deep river valley may be called a canyon or gorge. The terms U-shaped and V-shaped are descriptive terms of geography to characterize the form of valleys. Most valleys belong to one of these two main types or a mixture of them, with respect of the cross section of the slopes or hillsides.
Volcano - When pressure from the molten rock beneath the earth's surface becomes too great, the rock, usually accompanied by lava or gases, escapes through a...
