1.1) Definition.-
The termteenage pregnancy is referred to any female under the age of 19 (from 13 to 19 approximately) that becomes pregnant. The pregnancy, in general, can take place at any time of the puberty as long as thefemale has experienced the menarche (first menstrual period).
1.2) Influences and motivations
This situation might seem just a matter of ‘’hormones’’ but the truth is that there is apsychological side behind this. We all know that the fact of becoming pregnant comes after having a sexual activity. The question here is: Why do they ‘’feel’’ like having sexual activities since such ayoung age? It is known that in the past, families were more conservative about this topic, and the statics were extremely lower than nowadays (unless the culture of having children at a very young age asin many countries of Asia is a ‘’must’’). On the other hand, society during the last decade has changed a lot. Social media is introducing the youth to this ‘’new’’ world of experience, through manysources, for example, in front of a school over a very well-known street in Surco, there is a huge announcement board, promoting a label of condoms, and promoting the sexual activity as if it were afunny game; and this stage is really bizarre, because they are pretending to ‘’prevent’’ children from having an unsafe sexual activity. By the way, it is a really good fact that in schools, some of theprincipals promote the prevention speeches to their older students, they shouldn’t keep this topic as a forbidden one, but a topic that they should know about, in order to prevent sad circumstancesand not taking it as a game, because it involves many facts of our human being.
