ADJECTIVES – COMPARATIVE AND SUPERLATIVE
Un adjetivo modifica un sustantivo, típicamente por medio de describir, delimitar, o especificar cantidad. En inglés y otros idiomas se distingue porcaracterísticas formales como de poder usarse en forma comparativa y superlativa.
La terminación er añadida a un adjetivo monosílabo o bisílabo forma el comparativo de superioridad, y equivale a más enespañol. La terminación est añadida a un adjetivo monosílabo o bisílabo forma el superlativo, y equivale a el más, la más, lo más en español. (Pero no todas las palabras de una o dos sílabas formanel comparativo o superlativo así. Ver a continuación.) Cuando un adjetivo termina en y, cambia ésta por i en el comparativo y en el superlativo.
