ADVANCED STORE MANAGER COURSE (REVISED VERSION)
Course Objectives:
This comprehensive 10 modules course is designed for newly joined store managers to equip
them with the adequate tools, skillsand knowledge to excel in their work and responsibilities in
the retail store operations.
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
-

Understand the history of Bata.
Explain thefundamentals of shoes design and materials.
List the different types of shoes styles.
Understand the concept of visual merchandizing.
Describe the roles and functions of store managers.
Implement thestandardize group store operations processes and procedures in the
management of the stores towards profitability.

The methodologies used in this course consist of lecture, discussi on, roleplay, demonstrations,
videos, exercises, activities and test assessment.
Contextualization of Course Content:
Contextualization of the Advanced Store Manager Course (to be done by yourself) should bedone for the following modules:
1. Chapter 1 - History of Bata Shoe Organization (“BSO”)
 To customize slides 16 – 25 based on Bata history in your country.
 To include pictures of differenttypes of stores in your country.
 To include shop listing (if possible).
2. Chapter 6 - Performance Control
 To customize this topic according to your country’s way of measuring and controllingperformance in stores. (According to local policies)
3. Chapter 9 - Human Resource Management
 To include slides on your country’s principle of Fair Employment Practices .
 To include slides on yourcountry’s legislation on recruiting and hiring employees.
