The story is about a boy his name is sek-lung he tells the story of the grandmother. The Granma give to he a wind chime they life in Vancouver like the author Choy Wayson thatwas born in Vancouver Canada April 20 of 1939 the story is in past I think that is in past because the author can remember like his childhood in Vancouver and I think that the title of the jade ponyis because can a person of the life of Choy wayson can give like a object but this object can break and he can take the pices of the object and he can keep. the Granma like to searches garbagecans for materials. Is like a hobble the mother the father and the rest of the family get embarrassed of the hobbie of the Granma but she have a big problem she has a disease and she have to went to theHospital but nobody cant went to the hospital because the disease is cottage and sek-lung want to visit she.

In the first page the author is telling the story in the first paragraph he saidthe main conflict he introduce the conflict in the first line like-when grandmamma died at 83 our whole household held its breath. The story is telling in first person because the author is tellingthe story using his point of view I think that the author is using like the character sek-lung representing he because in the story the story use –my parents –my two older teenage brothers and mysister-another can be that is using the same place that sik-lung life and the author life Vancouver .
In the second paragraph the author is telling a internal conflict-my two older teenage brothersand my sister, Liang, age 14, were embarrassed by my parents behavior. What would all the white people in Vancouver think of us we were Canadians now .chinese-candandians,a hyphenated reality that myparents could never accept. So it seemed. for different reasons.
