Introduction
“Give us your tired. Your poor, yourhuddled masses yearning to breathe free." These words are have been engraved on the Statue of Liberty since 1886. The statue of liberty was meant to be a sign of hope for all immigrants that enter theU.S. Do we still agree with what those words say today?
Been a immigrant make me more aware of the decision that this government takes toward their immigration policy, there for I would like toshare some knowledge with you today. According with the US NEWS.com estimated that 850,000 legal immigrants have been coming to the U.S. per year since the year 2000, plus the number is rising. Thisdoesn't take into account the 275,000 illegal immigrants that come to the U.S. every year. In total, that amounts to over 1 million immigrants in about 12 years
Today, I would like to inform you aboutthe serious problems immigrants have. First, I will show how they live, then the reason of why they decided to migrate, concluding with some solution that might help everyone else to have a betterlife. As today this affect our economy, our society and our child life, when I’m done with my speech please ask yourself, what would you do if you will be in there shoes? Would you do the same? Are thecurrent laws fair?
My goal is not to make u change your mind and vote for politician that promise take care of the immigration issue, but I rather want you to understand, which is not the same asagreed. but if for next time you see someone who doesn’t speak English don’t feel that your space has been invaded and feel happy about having a diversity on our nation, then ask what yourself isthis individual story? What would their goals be? …. And be nice, it can make a big different on these folks life. Because they are warriors who deserve respect and isn’t fair that a piece of paper...
