Longer School Day?

“DING!” is the sound of the school bell ringing. Some states have passed a law that says students will have to start getting outof school at 4:00 p.m. rather than 3:00 p.m. as most schools do. I disagree with that law because kids should should have time for extra curricularactivities and teachers should be able to go home to go to their families.

First I believe that there should not be a longer school day because kidsshould be able to have more time for extra curricular activities. Shortening these activities will lower kids social abilities. Usually kids gain exerciseand learn to be more social.

Teachers should be able to go home and spend time with their family. I think that the teachers salary should still staythe same but with school ending at the regular time. The only change I suggest is that all schools even high and middle school days should start at 8:00and end at the regular 6:00.

Lastly students should be able to have some time to relax after an exhausting day at school. They would still havehomework that would make up for the extra hour of school.

In conclusion I do not believe that states should require an extra hour of school becausestudents should have some time to relax they should have some have more time for extra curricular activities, and teachers should have time to spend withtheir families. Hopefully Florida will not hear that “DDIINNGG!” an extra hour for school.
