Michelangelo biography
He born in march 6 from the year 1475 in Caprese, Italy and he finally died in February 18,1564 inRome, Italy
His life started when heand his family was in a village where his father Lodovico Buonarroti worked for the Florentine government. It didn’t happen more than a month after micheangelobirth for them to be back in Florence.
at the age of six his mother die and at the same time he was discovering his attraction for paintings. When he was thirteenhe became the apprentice of Dominico Ghilardaio the most prestige painter in Florence at the time Michelangelo live with him and his wife in the town of sttignanowhere his father own a marbel quarry and a farm. He lived with Dominico against his father wishes.
After been an apprentice of Dominico during three yearsDominico recommended Michelangelo to the ruler of Florence( Lorenzo de’ medici ).In lorenzo’s palace he created his first two sculptures: battle of centaurs andMadonna of the steps.
after lorenzo’s death he sold his marble cupid to cardinal san Giorgio and was asked to go work in rome. After four years in rome he came back toFlorence where he created his first master pice the marble David and painted the holy family of the tribune.
In 1503 he was ask to return to Rome for buildingthe pope’s tomb.After pope’s death he was ask to reconstruct the church of san Lorenzo in Florence and to adorn it with sculptures and paintings, the whole threeyears he spent reconstructing the church were the more demanding years of his life.
He finally die in February 18 from the year. 1564 when he was about 89
