Mulholland Drive is a 2001 American neo-noir psychological thriller written and directed by David Lynch. This film tells the story of anaspiring actress named Betty (Naomi Watts), newly arrived in Los Angeles, California. She meets and befriends an amnesiac hiding in her aunt's apartment. Along the movie “Betty” help her friend, “Rita”(Laura Helena Harring), to find herself. It is a very complicated movie; however, requires looking beyond of what is in front of your eyes. In my opinion, it is a great story. It goes beyond on what usedto see in movies. Although he did many things well, there are some other could have been better.

David Lynch did a great job directing this film. He combines fantasy with reality. The first twohours are based on a dream, and then it turns to show the reality of Camilla’s and Diane’s lives. I like Lynch’s work in Mulholland Drive; because it shows that nothing is not what it seems.

Onthe other hand, the acting part was poor from Laura Helena Harring. I didn’t like the way she performed. Every time she said or did something it seemed faked, as each one of the character in the movie.However, Naomi Watt was outstanding. She is natural and fluid while she acts. But in my general opinion, they did poorly, because they didn’t seemed comfortable with what they were doing.

Thescreenplay, in my personal opinion was great. I liked the story and how was presented. Lynch did a great job contrasting dreams with reality. To understand what is going on in it, you have to beconcentrated. In addition to that, you must pay attention to each given detail in the movie; because they are clues that lead you to discover the true.

The music and the costumes used bring the adequatefeeling according to the occasion. As we can see, while the movie was based in Diane’s dream, what “Betty” and “Rita” wore was totally different to those clothes they wore when it was the reality. For...
