Ireland is located to the northwest of continental Europe and is surrounded by hundreds of islands and islets. To the east ofIreland is Great Britain, separated from it by the Irish Sea. As for its geography, it is bisected by the River Shannon and a number of sizeable lakes such as the Lough Neagh which at the same timeis the largest of the whole ireland.
A further more interesting feature of it is its population which is approximately of 6.2 million people! Can you imagine that?.

Politically speaking, theisland of Ireland consists of ttwo states, The state/Republic of Ireland; and the state of Northern Ireland, which is a constituent country of the United Kingdom. For that reason Ireland has twocapitals: Belfast( capital of northern Ireland) and Dublin( capital of the republic of Ireland). The major cities of the whole ireland are: corck, galway, Londonberry, Lisburn and craigavon
