El servidor de administración utiliza Apache, MySQL y Perl. OCS es multi-plataforma: se ejecuta en sistemas Unix, así como en Microsoft Windows (95 o posterior). Gracias a su diseño muysimple y el uso de mod_perl, del lado del servidor rendimiento es muy bueno. Una máquina modesta por lo tanto puede realizar un inventario de varios miles de máquinas.
Agentes:
Con el fin de recopilar información detallada, los agentes pueden ser instalados en los equipos cliente en el inventario. Agentes de cliente están disponibles para: -

Open Computer and Software Inventory Next Generation esuna aplicación diseñada para ayudar a un administrador de red o un sistema de seguimiento de la configuración de las computadoras y el software que se instalan en la red. Algunos datos aquí recogidos.

OCS Inventory is released under the GNU General Public License, version 2.0 (GNU GPLv2). The GNU GPL provides for a person or persons to distribute OCS Inventory for a fee, but not actually charging for the software itself, because OCS Inventory is free.

OCS Inventory is free to share and change,but if you do change it in anyway, can you also change the license and make it commercial? No! The whole GPL is devoted to ensuring this does not happen. Copyright, a much more refined and stringent law will prevent this as well.

So with regard to OCS Inventory, the GPL and copyright:

You MAY distribute it and charge for that service. You MAY change it, add design and content to it and youMAY charge for that. You may NOT alter the license and you must NOT alter the copyright.

In other words, you must NOT pretend that OCS Inventory is yours, and you must NOT charge people for OCS Inventory.
Use OCS Inventory to empower yourself and your clients. Charge for the value you add and not for the hard work that OCS Inventory Development Team and the OCS Inventory community have put intoit.
