Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Clito Ruiz y Picasso also known as Pablo Picasso or Picasso as he began sometime to signhis drawings, was born in Malaga, Spain, October 25, 1881 and died in Mougins, France, April 8th, 1973 when he was 81 years old.
Picasso was an amazing artist, maybe the brightest artist in the XXCentury. He was a gifted painter, sculptor and even writer. His work all through his life was very prolific. He did around 50.000 artwork, between paintings, sculptures and drawings, are in severalmuseums around the world.
His father, Don José Ruiz Blasco, was a painter and an art professor who taught Picasso to draw very early in his life. When Picasso was 14 years old, he did a paint called ThePortrait of Aunt Pepa that was named for some very famous art critic as the greatest in Spain art historic.
At 16 years old, he quit to attend school and began to develop his own work.
As he livedso long, he had the opportunity to evolve as a person and as an artist through differents periods, where he developed art that make definitive and important changes in the world. New forms of art likecubist movement, the invention of constructed sculpture, the co-invention of collage, and a wide variety of styles that he helped develop and explore.
There are periods in his art very easy toidentify like the blue period where he used the blue as a solo color, that was his first period between 1901 and 1904. In this period he was deeply depressed over the death of his close friend CarlosCasagemas, he painted scenes of poverty, isolation and anguish using almost exclusively blues and greens. Picasso's most famous paintings from the Blue Period include Blue Nude, La Vieand The OldGuitarist, all three completed in 1903.
