The main character of this book is Percy Jackson. Percy is a child nothing extraordinary, lives in New York City, the son of a single motherwith a stepfather he hates, has very low scores, constantly expelled from schools, has dyslexia and attention deficit. After going with her mother to visit the lake, she is captured by a mythologicalcreature. Percy does not understand any of this and that's when his friend Grover (a satyr who is disguised as a human) tells him the truth of all this and he says he has to attend a camp for demigods.The camp meets Annabeth, daughter of Athena, Luke who is the son of Hermes and a centaur named Chiron is his role model. Discover who is the son of Poseidon and is involved in a dispute between thegods, Poseidon and Zeus. Throughout history Percy has to get an object of the god Zeus, who said there will be consequences if it is not given its thing, and the result is a war between gods thatdevastated New York and the entire world. Then Percy, Grover and Annabeth go in search of the object that is located in Las Vegas. They visit Ares, who gives them a backpack with items. Percy has to go tothe underworld to visit Hades, who is the alleged thief of the object (which is a ray), besides going to recover the ray Percy wanted to go to rescue his mother, as Luke knew that he told Ares to hidethe ray between Percy things to take to Hades. After they reached the underworld Percy rescues his mother and realizes that the lightning had then leaves the roof of the empire state where the doorwas to Olympus to deliver the lightning to Zeus. When they get there, a fight breaks out between Percy and Luke on the roof of the Empire State. Percy wins the fight, but Luke escapes. Percy goes tothe camp again and then he discover that Luke wants the ray for Kronos, after that Luke invokes a poisonous scorpion bites to Percy, which manages, leaving him near death. However, Chiron cures him...
