In philosophy, "The Absurd" refers to the conflict between the human tendency to seek value and meaning in life and the human inability to find any. In thiscontext absurd does not mean "logically impossible," but rather "humanly impossible."[1] The universe and the human mind do not each separately cause the Absurd, but rather, the Absurd arises by thecontradictory nature of the two existing simultaneously.
-Determinism
Determinism is the general philosophical thesis that states that for everything that happens there are conditions such that,given them, nothing else could happen. There are many versions of this thesis. Each of them rests upon various alleged connections, and interdependencies of things and events, asserting that these holdwithout exception
-Nihilism
-Stoicism
Stoicism (Greek Στωικισμός) is a school of Hellenistic philosophy founded in Athens by Zeno of Citium in the early 3rd century BC. The Stoics taught thatdestructive emotions resulted from errors in judgment, and that a sage, or person of "moral and intellectual perfection," would not suffer such emotions.[1]
Stoics were concerned with the activerelationship between cosmic determinism and human freedom, and the belief that it is virtuous to maintain a will (calledprohairesis) that is in accord with nature. Because of this, the Stoics presented theirphilosophy as a way of life, and they thought that the best indication of an individual's philosophy was not what a person said but how he behaved.[2]
