Automotive manufacturing refers to the industrial production of motor vehicles in factories qualified for it. Automotivemanufacturing requires human and financial capital very important.

Depending on the type of vehicle, the number of units to be produced per day and the location of the factory the degree ofautomation can vary considerably. If the units are too small to produce then it profitable to produce at a workshop manual, because the investment for an assembly line is not viable. Similarly,in countries with low labor costs automation degree is usually smaller and many processes are manual. In any case, I generally say that the degree of automation is high.

The vehicles areusually manufactured in a production line, with many stations where operators, fixed at each station, perform the same work on every vehicle that comes. Operators can rotate 1 or 2 times a dayfrom station to station for ergonomic reasons (eg in the USA. UU.) And work permanently in a season (Europe). Displacement of vehicles from one station to another is done is based on the principleof a conveyor belt.

Phases

Before producing a vehicle has completed its development and validation. The different steps involved in the manufacture of a vehicle are described below,although it is also possible that some of them occur in parallel to optimize the time, this is known as (simultaneous engineering). All steps described below need not necessarily occur in theplant.
