BIOGRAPHY
WALT
DISNEY

1) This biography has a lot of moments like this because it is talking of a person that is a very good person both professionally and outside of work. A lot of things that the author says in the book about him are also important to me to see in a person. For example, in one part of the book the author says that Walt Disney wasn’t worriedabout the money he would make from his work. He loves to do his job and make cartoons, and he loved to work in the studio creating new movies.
In one part of the book, the author said that when he made movies like “Snow White” and “Fantasia” he didn’t earn a lot of money because they were kind of “scary” movies for small kids and those kids didn’t want to see movies that scared them. The onlyreason that he made the movie “Dumbo” was because he was losing a lot of money with the other movies, and without that money he couldn’t keep working on what he liked. So he decided to make that movie to try to recover all the money that he lost with the other ones so he could continue to do what he loves to do.
This is one of the best moments in the biography for me because for me it isimportant in a person that they do their job not for the money but because they like to do it. Also I know that this is only possible if you have enough money that allows you to do something that you don’t earn money for. Almost all people work because they need the money and not because they like the work. I do not want to be that way. I want to follow Walt Disney’s example.
2) The language thatthat author uses in this biography is very easy to understand and is a biography in my opinion that everybody can read because the language is not that hard to read. The author uses simple words and simple sentences with not a lot of technicalities that are hard to understand or words for experts in literature.
Also the author uses a lot of words flattering Walt Disney and demonstrating that heis an admirer of him and he loves the way that Walt Disney works and the values in Walt Disney’s life. I say that because the author uses words like “exceptional” and “unique” referring to Walt Disney.
Another thing about the language is that the author says that he researched a lot about Walt Disney and all the things that he says in the biography are true. He didn’t invent anything.Sometimes he gave his point of view on some things like maybe something that he was disappointed with facts in Walt’s Disney’s life or with things that for him there were so impressive and very important for him but always highlighted the greatness of Walt Disney.
3) The writer’s style, like I said before, is an easy story to read. Also in this biography everything is in chronological order because theauthor starts telling about Walt as a child when he was born in Hermosa, Chicago, Illinois in 1901 into a family of farmers, to how he came to be one of the best cinematographers in the world, and up until his death in Burbank California in 1966.
In the story the author covers the way that Walt Disney became successful. He starts at when he was twenty years old and moved to Kansas City andstarted working in one of his friend’s companies creating commercials and announcements for a newspaper. After this, his friend Ubbe Iwwerks and he started to be interested in animation so they started to create short movies based on the popular books like Puss in Boots. After this Walt Disney created Mickey Mouse and with this a company that now is one of the most important in cinema, Disney. Hestarted to make movies in the studio and the rest if history. When Walt Disney died, the company still created very good movies and continued with Walt Disney’s vision.
This is more or less the order of the biography. It is a chronological one because he never changes in time or anything; the author follows the order of the life of Walt Disney. I prefer this because for me it’s easier to not get...
