Pray for the authorities
“I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all whoare in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior…”1 Timothy 2:1-3
Obama, Merkel, Hollande, Rajoy,Kirchner, Rousseff and so on… does it ring a bell? How about praying for them on a daily bases?Have you ponder about the importance and the effects it could have on the nations if you prayed fortheir lives, their jobs, their families, their weaknesses, their SOULS?Devil forces are at work, they don´t stop. Will we get involved in this fight?“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and inhis mighty power.11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For wet are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but againstevil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armour so youwill be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.”Ephesians 6:10-13So many times we go through this verse and pray lightly for thepresident of the nation but if only we realised of how powerful this tool is. There is an unseen world that is affected by our prayers, God is telling us to PRAY for ALL PEOPLE, especially thosewho are in authority, giving thanks for them.Action point: Next time any president or authority comes up in a conversation, pray for him/her. Get involved!“For the Lord’s sake, respect allhuman authority—whether the king as head of state, or the officials he has appointed. For the king has sent them to punish those who do wrong and to honor those who do right.”1 Peter 2:13-14
