Topic: Important Buildings in a City.

Objectives: The students will learn the importance of working in teams and also will be ableto detect those areas in which they have opportunities and in which areas they are good at cooperative work.

Language to be used: Vocabulary about objects that are inside of aschool, hospital, police department, bus station and a bank.

Procedure:

• Warm up Ask them what buildings they think are important for the development of life in a city.• Work in 4 teams of 5 students


• Each team will be given a card with the image of one important building in a city. Example: school, hospital, policedepartment, bus station and a bank.

• In teams, they will write a small explanation of why they think this building is important, they will have to talk among them and decide thebenefits of having that construction in the city.

• Each member of the team will make their own costume to simulate that they are a part of the building. Example: in the school,someone will have to be a chair and when they go to the front they will have to act as a chair and ware the costume. Then, one by one they will have to explain why they choose thatspecific item.

• Finally, the whole team will write a small paper explaining how they think their team work was and what did they discover by working with their classmates.Aids: Paper, scissors, glue and everything they need to make their costumes.

Maybethey won’t be able to understand the instructions correctly so the teacher will have to explain more clearly the procedure of the activity.
