Was undoubtedly the "number one" of Venezuela, marked the beginning ofmass communication in the country and led to the fledgling television industry boundaries.
Renaldo José Ottolina Pinto was a broadcaster, television host, Venezuelan businessman and politician bornin Valencia, Carabobo state on December 11, 1928 and died in Caracas on March 16, 1978. He was better known by the stage name Renny Ottolina and its popularity as a TV host was called the number oneVenezuelan television. Son of Francisco and Ana Mercedes Ottolina Pinto, who died shortly after birth complications.
STUDIES
Ottolina moved to Caracas with his father and grandmother in 1934. Hestudied at several institutions including the Colegio La Salle (where he studied Guillermo Morón), the Sacred Heart School (where he was a teammate of Carlos Rangel) and finally the School San Jose deLos Teques. In 1945 she auditioned Ottolina in Radio Caracas Radio without even having the certificate announcer. Passing the test station learned that it was announcer and lent the money to get thecertificate.
CAREER
Renny decided to enter the radio in 1945, taking 17 years of age, to receive your certificate of locution that year. He worked as an announcer on Radio Caracas, with a salary of160 bolivars a week, and soon after, called by journalist Abelardo Raidi passes into Radiodifusora Venezuela working on the station's daily magazine "Listen".
In 1952, it is the speaker who initiatesthe era of television in Venezuela, to participate as host of the inaugural of the now defunct National Television. In 1954, he was hired by the private television station RCTV kicking off themorning show varieties and interviews, "The Today"
