COMPARATION:
The difference between truestory and a fictional one is this: a fictional story has an ending, but a true story does not. When we have read the last page of a fictional story, we know everything: there is nothing more to discover. In a true story, there is always more to find out, because we can never know it all.
People often say that real life is stranger than fiction. It can certainly be just as frightening - andsometimes much more worrying.
This is a true story about the death of Karen Silkwood. Her death is a mystery. Was it an accident? It's the old, old question: 'Did she fall, or was she pushed?' We don't know. But somebody does. .Somebody out there, in the real world, knows if her death was an accident, or if it was not. Somebody knows - somebody who is alive and well and living an ordinary life, somewherein America, and who remembers what really happened

SUMMARY OF BOOK:
The book is a true story, about a young woman, called Karen Silkwood, who died in a car accident. But many people didn´t think that Karen´s death was just an accident.
She was working as a secretary but she was tired of her kind of life, when she found a new job at a nuclear factory where the pay was better. She hada meeting with the manager of the factory and she started to work to work the following day.
She met different people at the factory and soon she had some new friends. She met Drew, a man who worked at the factory, too. They began a relationship.
She was happy with her life but later, she started to discover some strange things in relation with the safety of the factory. She was decided tochange things there so she got into the Union Committee, a worker´s association. She had always a notebook and she asked a lot of people questions about the factory and wrote the answers in it.
The Committee wrote to the Union Leaders in Washington, because the safety of the factory was getting worse. Karen went to Washington to have a meeting with the Union Leaders. She told them what washappening. The managers of the factory were changing the negatives of the photographs of the fuel and uranium rods. But the Union Leaders needed proof. Karen had to steal the negatives from the laboratory and she did it. She put the negatives in a brown envelope. When she went to have an interview with the Union Leaders and a journalist of the Times, her car crashed and she died.

Karen Silkwood was born on February 19, 1946 in Longview, Texas and died on November 13, 1974 on Route 74 in Oklahoma, was a worker, a union U.S. nuclear plant that became known in the mid-70s for reporting serious irregularities in security by the company for which he worked, and died in a traffic accident with only 28years under highly suspicious circumstances. His story was made into a film.
The story of Karen Silkwood was filmed in 1983 with a film called Silkwood precisely, directed by Mike Nichols and starring Meryl Streep. Kurt Russell was Karen's boyfriend, and also starring Cher. The film was quite successful and received five Oscar nominations that year.
In the early '70s Karen Silkwood began workingin a nuclear power plant situated near Crescent, Oklahoma, and owned by the company Kerr-McGee, and joined the Atomic Employees Union (Atomic Workers Union). Later the union tasked with investigating things related to plant safety and health of employees.

She discovered numerous violations of safety and health protection at the plant, including worker exposure to radioactive substances,...
