Introduction
Self-Instructional Materials are very important in the teaching-learning process at all levels of education and training. They are materials designed to allow learners to study partially or totally by themselves and have been described as“Tutorial-In-Print”(Rowntree, 1998). According with Harrison Self-instructional materials have been related with many other names such as: home study, computer-based training, and flexible learning, independent learning, packages learning, individualized learning, programmed instruction and others. In this research we are going to learn what the types of self instructive materials are and if them propose advantages ordisadvantages in the moment to decide to use them. For proving the effects of theses resources in the students’ life it was necessary to make some test to students that are studying some language. This project presents the results that I found in this research about the students that are using the self instructive materials.

1-Statement of the problem

It is necessary to study the effects thatthe different self instructive materials have for the acquisition of a second language being that the students who use it have to be sure that they can learn other languages and these methods are effective. This research is appropriate from the academic point of view and it is going to make of the learning of a new language a more practical and advanced process. Thus we have based this study in ageneral goal which aims to describe the effects of using the self instructive materials from the acquisition of a second language to show the advantage or disadvantage of the students or people that are employing these resources. For making this research the researcher will study someone specific objectives such as to identify which are the self instructive materials the students use for learninga new language, and at the same time to determine the function of these materials in the acquisition of a new language, and to determine why students use the self instructive materials for learning another language, and to analyze what type of students or people employ these resources. All these objectives will take us the answer the next questions. What type of self instructive materials thestudents use for leaning a second language? , What are the reasons students use the self instructive materials for acquiring the language? , and what type of students employ theses resources?

1. What type of self instructive materials the students use for leaning a second language?
2. Which are the functions of these materials in the learning a new language?
3.What are the reasons students use the self instructive materials for acquiring the language?
4. What type of students employ theses resources?

3-Objectives
3.1 General
The general objective of study the effect of the self instructive materials from the acquisition of a second language is to show the advantages or disadvantage to the students that are using these resources.
