Speaking on behalf of the enslaved population, I believe that you sir, are a clever man, but not as trustworthy as you pretend to be. I can see that there is a sense of pride among a few men. Thispride, I can explain, is to have a nation of their own. A growing nation they shall brag about. I can see how this ambition is not so far from accomplishment. However, with all due respect sir, let usnot be hypocrites. How can all these colonists request freedom, when they have done nothing but keep us [slaves] from our own natural rights? What if we fight altogether and win? Will you take thecredit and go back to treating us like scum after we, with no other options, had to stand by your sides pretending to be brothers defending “our” home? I repeat, let us not be hypocrites.
Goahead; hold your heads and pride very high. I can feel the excitement you all have after knowing you are not alone for war. However, do not call victory yet. All these years “we”, referring to everyperson in the thirteen colonies, have tried to make the most peaceful approaches possible, but as much as we tried, things got worse with Britain. I can stand here and give my most sincere opinion or Ishall not, because there is nothing more repulsive than a man who is all about words, but no actions; one who stays daydreaming instead of achieving. So, I agree that there is no much of a choiceleft but to fight and if we do, we must fight right away. War is in the corner, I recall. British were able to mobilize in several areas already as previously mentioned.
However, with no furtherdelay, we [slaves] can only support this if and only if, after fighting and perhaps we are free from the British, this freedom and equality does apply on every single person who has their feetstanding on this land we ought to call home.
