The future of energy: is solar energy a feasible solution for developed countries?
We are in the middle of October and with these temperatures we could think that we are still in august. This is one of the consequences of the climate change. In general everybody is aware of this problem and therefore we try to find different solutions, and among them other types of energy. As Scheiermeier(2008) described ‘’Earth receives about 100,000 TW of solar power at its surface, enough energy every hour to supply humanity's energy needs for a year’’ (p.822). This is why we think that the solar energy is a good solution for the future.
Although this kind of research and infrastructures are expensive, developed countries should invest money on it since renewable energies will be clue in theclosest future.
In order to support our opinion we have found different arguments in favor and against this topic:
On the one hand the specialists Kahn and Franceschi explain that the CO2 emissions are increasing every year. The emissions increase in developed countries where it is due to the massive economic development in these regions. Also population is tremendously increasing which results tohigher energy consumption (as cited in Enteria & Mizutani, 2011, p.2096). These countries should focus in new renewable energies as the solar one because the sun represents an effectively unlimited supply of fuel at no cost, which is widely distributed and leaves no residue (Schiermeier, 2008, p.822).
The world needs technological innovation for future sustainable energy systems. This is why‘’development of carbon-free energy resources should also be given priorities as gradual alternative to carbon-based energy sources’’ (Lund, 2006, p.1990).
The geographic location of most developed countries is optimal because they have a good absorption of the sun´s rays. Many can be found along the equator or upon vast expansions of desert. In these locations, there is a great amount of sunlightyear-round. This is why solar photovoltaic (PV) systems are perfect for maximizing the potential of energy production in these settings (Saeed et al., 2006, p.2).

This type of solar energy (PV) is beginning to have influence as a new energy. Some countries such as Germany have begun to use it even in regions with moderate solar energy resource. And other European countries have adopted similarpolicies but it is still a resource that has many potential but is not good used (Súri et al., 2007, p.1305).
On the other hand one of the main problems for the exploitation of PV is that people need a good knowledge of geographical variability and time dynamics. If we learn to use good the primary solar energy resource we can improve our understanding of the potential PV and convert it into aneffective energy for the future (Súri et al., 2007, p.1305).
The ultimate limitation on solar power is darkness. Solar cells do not work well at night, since they cannot generate electricity and this is also a problem in places with frequent and extensive cloud cover (Schiermeier, 2008, p.821).

In general people are aware of the problems that environmental pollution can cause but the solutions aretaking too much time to come. Pollution has lately reached such high levels that it has finally become a serious threat to vegetation, wild life and even human health. Also, the enormous amounts of pollutants that are emitted during the combustion of fossil fuels are responsible for acid rain and global climate change (Çengel, 2010, p.153)
Due to the expensive price of the installation and themaintenance of these solar cells it has not success in private houses because people are not willing to pay this big amount of money for having the same electricity as before (Schiermeier, 2008, p.822).

But it looks like the future of solar energy is closer than we thought because as Hang et al. (2008) advised, ‘’ Concentrating solar power technologies (CSP) have been widely developed and...
