Good Morning classmates and teacher, I’m delighted to have this opportunity to join you to discuss a subject in which I personally have a great interest: the learning of foreign languages.
Did you have known that the 35% of the world population speak more than one language? This percentage only includes people who speak a second language; people who are multilingual represent 23% of thepopulation. Nowadays the most dominant language are: English, Chinese, and Spanish.
There is no doubt about it, learning a second language is challenging, which is probably why so few people will actually do it. There are however a lot of good reasons that you would want to be able to speak more than on language. Given all the advantages of being able to speak a second language it is well worth theeffort to learn how to do it.
There are so many different languages in the world and Learn other language might take a lot of effort, but there are a lot of welfare that we can get by learning foreign language include greater social opportunities, enhance future career and learn other culture.
Let me begin with the first benefits of learning foreign language:
1) Social opportunities.
Learninganother language not only gives us the knowledge but also gives benefits in social aspect. We are surrounded by people from other countries who use other language. Think of the hazard opened to you in the world of travel as a speaker of another language. As we can speak with their language, we can mix well with foreigner, just knowing a few words and phrases in another language will show the effortthat we put to mix around with them; you will be a more confident transient in the places where your second or additional language is spoken and you will gain a lot more from travel since you will be able to communicate with local people.
Besides connecting people, learning a second language also can enhance our future career.

2) Enhance future career.
The big advantage of learning a secondlanguage is that it can really help your career. Globalization means that it is now necessary to do business with people who speak all sorts of different languages. As a result employers are constantly looking for people who are able to speak additional languages. If you have a job skill and the ability to speak more than one language you will find yourself in huge demand with employers. Of coursethis will depend in large part on what languages you are able to speak.
No matter what type of career we pursue, we will be more attractive to an employer if we have another language. Those who have the ability to speak and use more than one language are more likely to be able to find a job which opens up travel opportunities and chances to exchange with others.
There might be other employmentchances we have not even considered. The possibilities are out there for us when we have additional language skills. It is important to remember that a person who has the ability to speak a second language fluently is a valuable asset.
Another advantage that you will get from learning a second language is that it will help to make you smarter. There are a lot of studies that show that learning alanguage will help to improve things like your memory and problem solving skills. This is largely because like anything else your brain benefits from being used. The more you exercise your brain the better it will work and one of the best ways to exercise your brain is by learning a new language. The reason for this is that there are so many different parts of your brain involved in learning alanguage.
Other benefits are scholarships that are available for students who speak a certain language or understand a particular culture. Because these scholarships are offered to a limited group, you will actually have a much higher chance of winning these scholarships than you would in some of the more well-known programs.
