Last year from a field in the school took us to visit FURESA which is a Wild Refujio Foundation which in turn holds 60 animals including 11 species are endangered.
What struck me most of the tripwas seeing the Bengal tigers are carnivores and predators are the species of the world's largest cat. The total length of males is 270-330 cm while that of females is 240-265 cm; the tail is about85-100 cm in length and shoulder height 90-110 cm. The average weight of 221.2 kg (487.7 lb) for males and 139.7 kg (308 lb) for females, yet those who inhabit the north of India and Nepal have an averageweight of 235 kg (518 lb .) for males and 140 kg (308.6 lb) for females.
It should be noted that animal is usual to find in Asia, it is also known for being solitary and territorial and generallytend to live in dense forests but also open areas such as savannahs.
Most tigers have orange or tawny coat an area middle and ventral whitish stripes and tone varies from dark brown to black. The formand amount of the stripes vary according to sex (if female striped amount is lower).
The main function of stripes is camouflage, making it useful to hide from potential prey.
Like most cats, tigersare believed to have some color vision. Moreover, their night vision is very sharp thanks to the membrane mirror located in the retina, which focuses the dim light of the night.
Unlike other cats,although the likeness of the jaguar, the tiger is an excellent swimmer; you can surprise and hunt prey in the water.
The tiger is endangered according to the "Red List of Threatened Species of IUCN"International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources
El año pasado de parte de un trabajo de campo en el colegio nos llevaron a visitar Furesa el cual es una Fundacion deRefujio Salvaje que a su vez alberga más de 60 animales entre ellos 11 especies se encuentran en peligro de extinción.
