To Kill a Mockingbird

To Kill a Mockingbird is a story that takes place around the 1930’s. It is about this young girl named Scout Finch that lives with her brother, Jem, and her father AtticusFinch. They live in a small town in Alabama, Maycomb, in which everyone knows each other.
One summer, a young boy whose name is Dill comes to the neighborhood. He becomes good friends with Scout andJem. They did everything together. They even acted out a story of their mysterious neighbor, Arthur Radley, but they called him Boo. They got gifts from a mysterious person, but soon came toconclusion that it was Boo. He would never show himself to them.
Maycomb was a society of white people that racism was a great part in their lives. Atticus is a lawyer that had to defend Tom Robinson in atrial. Tom was accused of raping a white woman named Mayella Ewell. Her family was extremely poor and lived in horrible conditions, but they were still considered to be in a higher society than blacks.Atticus found out that Mayella made Tom look bad when her father, Bob Ewell, came into the garage. She had tried to kiss Tom, but her father came in and Mayella in order to cover her shame and thetruth she accuses Tom. Even with this evidence, the jury sent tom to prison. Tom tried to escape, but was shot and killed.
After this, Bob Ewell was still ashamed of the fool Atticus had made of him atthe trial. He tried to get revenge by attacking Jem and Scout when they were on their way home at night, but Boo Radley interferes to save the children, but stabs Bob Ewell and killed him. Jem waswounded and Boo carried him home to safety. When they were home, the sheriff came in order to try to get everyone to think that Bob tripped over a tree root and fell on the knife and Boo was innocent.Boo stayed in the Finch’s house for a little watching Scout, but soon went back to his house.
After all this, Scout finally realizes how difficult Boo’s life. Scout had learned the importance of...
